Lastly I cant pick up my fabrics from a fellow WNYMQG member for this months bee block until tomorrow. Our Queen dyed her own fabrics, I cant wait to see them in person they always look so yummy. The log cabin quilt will be a Christmas gift so its been put aside for now.
Time to at least start my Farmers Wife quilt, I think I will be doing these blocks between projects. I have decided to use some fun and bright fabrics I have been collecting for a while.
Whenever I found one of them at anyone of my favorite fabric stores I purchased at least a fat quarter. One blogger I chatted with said she did her blocks in number order to keep better track since she was going to do them all anyway. I thought that would be a good system since I will be doing projects in-between. What are your thoughts on the colors of my first 2 blocks? Have you ever done this quilt or just some of the blocks, so many would be great for a Bee Block. I promise not to post each block as I make them, that's boring. Maybe every 25 or so.
Good luck on your farmers wife! I have done one... too intimidating for me!

Why was it intimidating, the number of blocks? I like the blocks and don't NEED any quilt so doing a block when I can without deadline I thought would be good.
DeleteLove your pull for the farmer's wife quilt. That green blocks is awesome! And your puppies are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI was afraid to go bright but the responses on my curved quilt were overwhelming, I love bright colors. We always tease this vacation is for the puppies, they seem to love it most including the fishing.
DeleteThe blocks for the New Quilt Bloggers Bee are looking great. I must have missed the memo, since I participated in the Hop too. Was the bee organized by e-mail, the google group, or elsewhere? Are you full? I'm in the US, so I opted out of the Aussie opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThe Bee was put together via an email post of who was interested in a round robin or a bee. -Email me and we can chat about joining this bee, we are all US based
DeleteThanks for being the Queen Bee on this quilt, Pam. I am already loving the look of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie, I love that without assigning colors everyone picked something different. It's coming together- just started some sashing and I think I love it.
DeleteThat is going to be the brightest (and therefore probably the most awesome!) Farmer's Wife quilt ever! I have no tips to share--haven't tackled it myself--but I'll look forward to seeing it come together with all those happy colors. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm excited. I thought I would do 1 or 2 and have now already completed 5- It may go quickly, fingers crossed
DeleteI love your colors. I look forward to seeing more completed blocks. (Don't make us wait until you have 25!) :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it wont take long to get to 25, they are only 6 1/2" blocks. I just hate seeing a blog post of individual blocks- its boring.
DeleteThose bee blocks are fantastic! I just love the bright colors that you have pulled for your FW blocks. I think the quilt is fantastic but typically the prints used are so dreary. . . IMHO :) I can't wait to see what yours looks like!
ReplyDeleteYour girls are beautiful and that sunset! Great pictures!!
I love that the bee blocks are a pull from your stash and you never know what you will get. Yet they all look so good together when put on the board. I'm a modern quilter so dreary just wouldn't do. Thanks the girls are always happy and it usually takes the entire week to get a great sunset picture over the lake. (cloud cover/ rain)
DeleteCOMMENTING GUESTS ~ I apologize, I will figure this out. When I fixed the no-reply blogger my comments became moderated. Now I have to figure out on which page that checked box is and fix it. So sorry-
